.

2006-07-30
The "Tudor" dress is now finished. Go see!

2006-07-23
You're probably not going to believe this, but I have actually put a new costume in the Costume Gallery. It's not the tudor I finished two months ago, or the flemish gown which also was finished months ago. I haven't gotten around to taking any photos yet. Instead it's of a nice little dress from the 1330s-1340s.

2006-06-23
I've updated the links page. Mostly with links to 12th, 14th and 15th century art.

2006-04-23
I've made the final touches on the flemish gown. Pictures will come later in the gallery, but the dairy is finished.

2005-10-11
A new outfit in the Costume Gallery! And guess what? It's pink!

2005-10-11
The pink gardecorps is finished, except for buttonholes and buttons. There are som information on what adaptions I did to the original pattern, problems, their probable cause and how I solved them.

2005-09-25
I took down my 11th century dress from the Cosutme gallerty, since I need space and I don't feel it's up to my current standard. I did some other cleaning too. Aside from that I have updated the gardecorps-diary with pictures of the fabric and how I sew linings.

2005-09-13
Updated the gardecorps-diary with lots of info on construction.

2005-08-31
I started a new dress diary. This time on the making of a c. 1300 gardecorps.

2005-06-26
I put pictures and documentation of yet another early 14th century costume in the Costume Gallery. This time a cotte in murrey wool.

2005-06-12
The flemish gown is actually almost finished. It only needs a girdle and a better partlet. A picture can be seen at the bottom of the diary page.

2005-06-05
The bodice part of the flemish gown is finished. With pictures of the puffy sleeves.

2005-05-28
I've started working on the sleeves on the black gown. Padded rolls and stuff.

2005-05-22
Some musings on sleeves and on the bodice in the diary.

2005-05-19
I've cut out the sleeves for the flemish gown. the pattern can be found in the diary.

2005-05-17
Pictures of the kirtle are up now!

2005-05-16
What is this? Two updates in two days? Yes, it's true, I have updated my dress diary.

2005-05-15

2005-03-22
Hey! I've got some naughty 19th century underwear pics!

2005-03-06
I have finally both made my green silk bliaut that I have planned since August 2003, and the page for it.

2005-02-21
My new obsession, 19th century dress has gotten it's own page. This far the only piece of clothing shown is a bonnet.

2004-12-19
Not too interesting, but I've put up some pictures of my family's christmas celebrations.

2004-12-19
I put up some pictures (three) from my sister's dinner party set in 1900-1910, the occasion I made the aforementioned pink dress for.

2004-12-16
I have finally finished my reception dress from 1901.

2004-12-12
Another example of the beautiful early 14th century style has been added in the costume gallery.

2004-11-19
I now have pictures of one of my absolute favourite 16th century gowns. Check it out!

2004-11-18
Because my sister is having a fancy dress party with the theme 1900-1910 I have started on a costume from that era. The corset, which is the only part finished, can be seen here.

2004-11-12
Yes, I know you're waiting for new costume pictures, but for now you will have to be content with some pictures of my six months old daughter Maja playing with my soon to be edwardian corset. They're at her page

2004-10-24
Partlet finished.

2004-10-18
I put up one of Rickard's early 14th century outfits in the costume gallery. I have also completely redone the page on my 16th century loose kirtle, putting up new pictures and changing the text.

2004-10-01
I've started on the black partlet for the 16th century flemish dress.

2004-09-22
A whole new costume in the Costume gallery. It's a 12th century bliaut.

2004-09-16
Some musings on the black partlet in the diary.

2004-09-15
Updated the dress diary with some pictures of the finished corset.

2004-09-06
I've put up a new page on an early 11th century costume I made four years ago. I also made a page with clothes I'm selling. In swedish and within Sweden only.

2004-08-17
The page on my folk costume is updated with better pictures. Those of you who read my live journal have already seen them, but for the rest of you there finally is a decent picture of me in my folk costume. the costume looks good and I look pretty, what could one ask for more?

2004-08-17
Another update in the dress diary. My headgear is coming together. Maybe soon I have to start on the actual dress.

2004-08-14
I have actually updated my dress diary for a 16th century flemish dress. My corset is getting close to completion and there's even a picture of it.

2004-08-11
I've put up the pictures I took at this year's Visby medieval week.

2004-07-16
Some pictures of Maja in her first garb.

2004-07-05

2004-06-11
I put up pictures of me breastfeeding Maja through nursing slits on my 12th century german dress.

2004-05-24
The cap for my folk costume is now finished and I have put up a picture of it.

2004-05-23
I made two non-costume related pages. One with pictures of Vendela and Valeria and one with pictures of Maja.

2004-05-07
I made a new page where I will show accessories I've made. You reach it through the Costume Gallery and this far it only contains my golden hairnet, but as soon as I get the time/energy to do so i wil linclude more stuff.
I have also added a page with links. It is far from finished. For instance, I haven't even begun to list all the links I have under the headline "Art" in my collection of bookmarks.

2004-04-30
Decided to share my latest insanity with you. I'm going to make an embroidered highnecked smock after a preserved garment at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

2004-04-20
I made a golden hairnet to wear with german 16th century clothes.

2004-04-05
I reopened my dress diary of a 16th century flemish gown. I still can't do anything about the dress and the corset for obvious reasons, but I have started on the thing that made want to make this outfit in the first place: The white headgear.

2004-03-28
Added an article in swedish. It's a critique of the most common commercial patterns for medieval clothing in swedish; Fru Sophias mönster.

2004-03-12
The kirtle from Patterns of Fashion is now finished and can be viewed in the Costume Gallery. I also changed the picture of my children on the first page to a newer picture where you can see the whole family (that far, the baby was made in august and this picture is taken in the middle of september).

2004-02-17
The sleeves for the kirtle are finished.

2004-02-17

I finally started working on the sleeves for the kirtle.

2004-02-03
The loose kirtle is finished. Now I only need to make the sleeves.

2004-01-26
I finished my net and silk applique trim and it can be seen in the diary.

2004-01-21
A lot of updates this morning:
1. There are now pictures of my blackwork sleeves which can be seen together with my green wool dress in the Costume Gallery.
2. I have also gotten aclear picture and added some new info on the toque I'm wearing with my purple elizabethan dress.
3. I've updated my diary of a loose kirtle, with pictures of the finished broad silk applique and net band.

2004-01-19
OK, not very exciting, but I made a link to some photos from the place I work at, the Department of History at Gothenburg University, on the first page.

2004-01-11
I made a whole new page in the Costume Gallery, devoted to my newly made 12th century dress. Of course there's lots of documentation.

2004-01-05
I have started on the decorative bands on the kirtle.

2004-01-01
Pictures of the kirtle!!

2003-12-31
I added the promised picture of Catherine of Austria in the diary of the loose kirtle, faking it a little since it's place is in the entry from the 8th of December.

2003-12-29
I made a whole new page about my folk costume. It also contains some general info on swedish folk costumes. I swear I only intended to put up some pictures and some short info about the different garments, but you know me, I just have to tell the history of things. I'm just glad I managed to stop myself from giving a lecture of the development in how folk costumes were viewed and made during the last five decades.

2003-12-28
I updated the diary again, this time also with a picture of lacing holes.

2003-12-16
You guessed it. Another report from kirtle-land.

2003-12-12
I added a link to a picture in the document about my dress from 1250, in the costume gallery. It's a link to an illustration from the Maciejowski Bible where a servant woman wears her sleeves tied behind the back, the way that have them in one of the photos.

2003-12-11
I've cut the fabric for the kirtle and also written some about period ways to attach a lining.

2003-12-08
Another update on the loose kirtle. Some thoughts on how fitted it was.

2003-12-02
Updated the diary on the loose kirtle.

2003-11-24
It's been a really long time, but now I've made an update in the flemish dress diary. It is put on hold for at least a year, since I'm pregnant and can't wear corsets and fitted dresses for a while. Instead I started a new dress diary; of the woman's kirtle in Patterns of Fashion that I plan to use as maternity wear.

2003-09-28
Since the report from the latest NESAT-conference last spring hasn't come yet, I don't even know if it's ready for printing, I decided to put my article "Written traces - wills in 13th to 15th century Scandinavia" on my webpage.
I'd like to give special thanks to Jennifer Thompson from A Festive Attyre who checked and commented on my english.

2003-09-08
I put a picture of the pattern for my 1770s corset and pocket hoops on the page with pictures of my 18th century underwear.

2003-09-02
I added another costume in the gallery. It's an outfit based on a french manuscript from ca 1250, the Maciejowski bible. Apart from that my costuming is going slow, I have bad back and very little energy so both my 16th century dress and my 18th century outfit is on hold for now.

2003-08-13
I put up some photos from our camp at Visby medieval week, which was last week. Lots of people in Manesse Codex style!

2003-07-18
I updated my dress diary

2003-07-16 again
added another outfit to the Costume gallery.

2003-07-16
I added a two new costumes to the Costume gallery . Well, one of them isn't a finished costume, but just the underwear.
Yesterday I borrowed my brother-in-law's digital camera and took photos of some of my costumes. I'll add them to the costume gallery as soon as I have the time. Today I'm going to Växjö, a town in the province of Småland in southern sweden, to give alecture on dress in mediaeval Scandinavia. I would be nervous if I wasn't so tired and had so much pain because of my arthritis. Now, I just can't be bothered enough to be nervous.

2003-07-10
I shuffelled some things around and reorganized stuff. I gave the articles a separate page and added another article in swedish, this time at my own site. I will translate my articles to english eventually, but it's hard work and there's so many other things I should be doing.

2003-07-08
Just added some text in the diary. I'm still waiting for photos of my lace and some other stuff.

2003-07-07
This day really sucks. My e-mail has been down for several hours and I'm expecting some photos that I want to use for the dress diary. On top of that my team lost today and the referee was an idiot. And of course it was against the team we hate most :(
But, I did put up another picture of my green wool dress and here you can actually see that it's green and not yellow.

2003-07-04
I added an article on the headwear I intend to make for my flemish dress.

2003-07-01
I started a dress diary tonight (It's 5.25 and I haven't slept yet, I just can't!)

2003-06-28
I added some pictures and a description of some of my early 14th century clothing.

2003-06-26
What's new is this whole homepage-business! I've longed to have one for quite a while now, inspired by all the great costuming sites out there. But since all my experienc with computers is to write things in Word and make tables with the help of Excel, this seemed an obstacle impossible to overcome.
Fortunately, this wasn't the case and here it is! I'm extremely impressed by myself ;)
Anyway, there's not much to see for now, but there will be. I've been making medieval and reanissance costumes for ten years now and I have way too many! Even if you take away the ones I'm not happy with and the ones that have mysteriously shrunk.
Later I will also add some articles, both in swedish and, when I have the time to translate them, in english. Some of my swedish articles can already be seen here and thanks to Baroness Marienna Jensdatter/Maggie Forest you can read one translation here.
Being a very talkative and self-centered person :) I could go on like this forever. But I won't, instead; why don't you check out the very few images in the costume gallery?
