The electronics of the old CD has to remain in parts as it contains a sensor for CD in mouth peace.

The two flexi strips visible from beneath the CD player are just there to connect the motors and to get data from CD. They can be disconnected without harm. 

I split the CD in "must have" and "scrap". This really was a mechanical wonder....

The "must have" mounted in Bordmonitor. The chassis will have to go. Look at the white wheel in the right hand corner. That wheels position controls whether or not the front will close or not.

Save these parts and continue with high resolution display, or DVD assembly
