Software setup

  1. Connect the USB port directly to the PC to get the USB ON output to work properly.
  2. Run PowerControlConfig configuration utility. You need it to set all timings. Download it from here. Watch the YouTube videos on how to run it.
  3. When system is installed the GPS receiver still has to be calibrated. This is how you start
    1. Make sure the gyro is mounted flat.
    2. Start Dr Monitor and connect to COM port.
    3. Select NMEA under config-> Protocol
    4. Select '0' under config->"NMEA output control"->interval to get 5Hz update. My navigator still update screen with 1Hz, but maybe your navigator will look smoother with this selection.
    5. set DR engine to 10Hz in "config->DR engine rate".
  4. Now when everything is configured this is what the system does:
    1. First is tacho calibrated during 40 GPS fix points at speed over 8m/s
    2. Then the offset of the gyro is set at short standstill.
    3. Then the gyro is calibrated at x20 90 degrees turns.
  5. Save calibration to flash with sysCmd->"Write BBRAM to flash"
