If you are running the unit on your desktop first and it has got IBus, you have to have a pull-up on the IBus. You can enable the internal pull-up with the on board jumper.

Connect according to pinout

Since it is a bit tricky to put the pcb and the DVD together in the BM I have put together a sequence of pictures as the order things are done is critical to succeed.

Make sure you extend the cables enough, and that you turn them the right way arround (= same way as I have done)

If you assemble the DVD same fashion as I have done, haveing press-nuts really helps later.

A thick taperoll is a great support for the BM.

Put the pcb upside down so that the connectors to the motor....

...and the sensor, and the eject button can be put in place easily.
EDIT: I FORGOT TO PUT THE LED FOR THE CD DETECTION IN PLACE, AND HAD TO BACK TO THIS POINT TO CORRECT IT. HAS TO BE DONE HERE, BUT DOES NOT SHOW ON PIC. IT IS BEHIND THE DVD HOLDER. I GUESS I SHOULD READ THIS GUIDE VERY CAREFULLY MYSELF ;-)

Flip the pcb around but do not tighten any screws.

Slide the DVD in passed the 9V battery holder so that it can be reversed into it.

Move the DVD backwards into 9V batt holder and scre the crossmember in place.

Make sure the DVD is flush with front....

... and tighten the screws that holds the entire package toghether. BE SURE THE PCB IS PUT IN CENTER SO THAT NO TRACKS IS SHORT CIRCUITED BY CROSSMEMBER.

Finally the connetors (here also emulator cable) can be put in place!

Software setup

  1. Connect the USB port directly to the PC to get the USB ON output to work properly.
  2. Run PowerControlConfig configuration utility. You need it to set all timings. Download it from here. Watch the YouTube videos on how to run it.
  3. When system is installed the GPS receiver still has to be calibrated. This is how you start
    1. Make sure the gyro is mounted flat.
    2. Start Dr Monitor and connect to COM port.
    3. Select NMEA under config-> Protocol
    4. Select '0' under config->"NMEA output control"->interval to get 5Hz update. My navigator still update screen with 1Hz, but maybe your navigator will look smoother with this selection.
    5. set DR engine to 10Hz in "config->DR engine rate".
  4. Now when everything is configured this is what the system does:
    1. First is tacho calibrated during 40 GPS fix points at speed over 8m/s
    2. Then the offset of the gyro is set at short standstill.
    3. Then the gyro is calibrated at x20 90 degrees turns.
  5. Save calibration to flash with sysCmd->"Write BBRAM to flash"
