A
room installation, with a sculpture, wafers, and photographs.
The
room 4 m. x 4 m. and 4 m, high was paint in deep reed color, the red
of the cardinals, of blood and of grief in the church. Beside and on
top of the narrow entrance three wafers were attached. Inside, on a
podium, was laying a sculpture, the cast of a female body completely
done with church wafers. The wafers were bought in the Vatican in Rome
and blessed by the Pope in a mess at St. Peter's Cathedral. In the catholic
liturgy the wafer represents the body of Jesus, through putting it your
mouth and swallowing it Jesus penetrates in your body and purifies you,
the erotic connotations are obvious. In these case the blessed wafers
form the sensual body of a woman to be taken with the mouth. Around
the body hang three photographs of oral sex and penetration combined
with images of a graveyard's pavilions
