Pakistan Air Force

Originally six aircraft was ordered but this was changed into five in May 2007 due to renegotiation with Government of Pakistan. In December 2006 Saab began the process of major modifications to the airframe. The aircraft with c/n 040, 045 and 049 have been allocated for the project.

In the end of March 2008 a major landmark was achieved when the first aircraft was rolled out in a cermony held at the Saab facility in Sweden. The rolling out of the aircraft would pave way for the installation of survillance and airborne warning gadgetry and equipment.

We took a close look at all available aircraft types and chose the Saab 2000 as the aircraft best suited to the NASCAR operational environment. The Saab 2000 was the ideal aircraft for serving the smaller airports closest to Race Circuit venues, and the aircraft's speed was more than sufficient for our needs.
